ABOUT

Pedrabissi Studio works in the fields of architecture, interiors, public spaces, and installations. Dario Pedrabissi is the principal of this small but highly collaborative design studio that operates in the zone between practice, research, and education.

The hybrid between theory and real projects in the community aims to contribute to the built environment, simply believing that architecture can and must enrich life.

The design approach at the Studio is driven by speculative forms and material actions that initiate the design process freely. Adding layers of analysis contingent upon the specific task and derived from historical-theoretical references, the designs advance in a workspace that combines craft, invention, and technology.

The studio operates in Italy and the UK, where Dario Pedrabissi is currently a Senior Lecturer at the Portsmouth School of Architecture (PSA), specializing in Architectural Design and Building Technology. From 2011 to 2017 the Studio was based in South Korea where the design and research projects mainly focused on highly dense urban environments and the contemporary housing condition.

Dario Pedrabissi received his Bachelor of Architecture from Florence University in Italy and his Master of Science in Architecture and Urbanism from the University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands. Before establishing his practice, Dario Pedrabissi worked for several local practices in Italy – both in design and construction – and was involved in public and private projects on different scales.
